Wikipedia, On the inherent evil of
Be sure to drag down our profession by answering every reference question with "did you already check Wikipedia?" Ask the question as non-ironically as possible, and you'll probably see a good 40% drop-off in your daily work schedule. Note: make sure not to reveal the small factoid about Wikipedia being about as reliable as Ronald Reagan's memory when it comes to FACTS.

And here I was always asking if they'd googled it.
What's even better is other people asking the person you are helping whether s/he "looked it up on Google because you can find everything there" as I'm doing a search.

I don't do too good with letters and numbers, but I tried enabling the RSS feed thingy and here's a link:

I go back and forth about wanting faculty members in there when I'm teaching. It's good because their presence at least makes the students think it's important but I hate when things happen like you mention, Flourish. Oh they say, "And don't forgot Google." Or my other favorite, "You can't use any web pages" so the students think they can't use our databases because they are on the web. Ugh.
