Maybe we should start making fun of people who use such horrid buzz words by using really outdated terms like 'information superhighway' with a straight face.

Uttering the word "utilize" in my presence is another oppotunity for pointy-toed nad kicking.
Intelligent people use small words to communicate; dumb people utilize big words poorly to obfuscate.
Totally agree. Especially when it concerns data mining.

I'm not fond of "giving you a head's up" either.
I rant about librarian's overuse of "deliverables and outcomes" on my blog. "Why Meetings Suck." January 3rd.
How about "we're good to go"... go where?
Then there's "reporting out" at staff meetings. "I'd like to report out on the new catalog." Eewww.

Reflect back on?
Piggy back off of?

Wouldn't taking out the repeated user of some of these be grounds for a plea of justifiable homicide in most states?

How about "let's piggy back on her idea" or "paradigm shift"?
I strongly object to utilizing proactive language, even if it has been committeed by a well orientated peoples.
to go with paradigm shift, how about "pedagogies" - I can't even pronounce it properly :-)
