Vacation, Going on

If you go on vacation, be sure to come back to work with a photo album or scrapbook, a tan, and souvenirs for everyone. It's important to remind everyone that you were off having fun while they were at the library working. Plus, if you don't celebrate your own return, you may come to the painful realization that no one even noticed that you were gone.

You might also want to send post cards to your co-workers detailing how much fun you are having while not at work!!

The biggest incompetent (HI STAN!) I ever worked with, left legions of happy, satisfied people when she went on vacation. Work got done, conversations weren't strained. Paradise.

Never bring anything for your coworkers it sets up patterns that everytime you go on vacation they will be expecting something just like baby birds. I do not want to hear about my coworkers vacations since they just go to conferences. Now if they went to some exotic location and almost died of a rare parasite and had been forced to kill their mode of transporation now that is something must be shared. If they have photos of themselves feasting on the rotting remains of an animal that is even better. This is work not your family. Please people have a life outside of your work. Of course me commenting on this blog while I watch the World Cup is not much of a life.

I was once at a performance monitoring meeting where it was suggested that the single biggest contribution to improved performance would be the whole library management team's taking a six-month vacation...

Two people just returned from their vacations and everyone except me is asking them the usual stupid questions about the weather during their vacations. Do these other librarians not have a life? Here we go about the usual bullshit how was the trip, when they got home, who the fuck cares about this shit. Man these people do not have a life since they are already talking about thier cats. Holy fucking shit librarians fulfilling the stereotpye about having cats.

I have a life. I have cats. And I had a great vacation, thanks for not asking.

It's called small talk, you neckbeards.

I have a very good life - my cats just happen to share it. Stereotypical? My tattoos beg to differ.

We happen to all be friends at my library (well, for the most part). So, some people's vacation I truly DO want to hear about.
The fact that my cats share my house is balanced by the fact that I have tattoos - stereotype that!

All I brought back from my vacation was an STD, and I only shared it with one of my colleagues.
