Yeah, webinar is a crap word. Get a shovel and bury it already.
...but I just went to one today. Granted I didn't know it was webinar until I was on the phone listening to their fake Dave Matthews music until I was told I was being connected to the webinar.By then it was too late to go back.
This is pretty hilarious to see this morning because I attended one yesterday and immediately after, I tweeted to my (mostly librarian) friends that 'each time I hear the terms 'webinar,' 'wiki' and 'web 2.0' I kinda want to scoop out my teeny tiny ear bones with a melon-baller. .

I groan so loudly when I hear that word that I get shushed by my co-workers. IT is a really loud groan.
But then an lolcat gets its wings. It evens out, karmically.
And every time we have to sit through one, our brains atrophy a little more. Just give me something to read already! I can get the same information in a fraction of the time, without wanting to blow my brains out halfway through.
Ditto what unstricken said. They should be drawn and quartered.
They made us sit through one last week. Boring as hell!

But at least it is easier to leave a webinar than a seminar. In a seminar, it is considered rude to leave in the middle. All eyes are on you as you excuse yourself numerous times while stumbling over legs trying to get out of the row. With a webinar, all you have to do is hang up the phone. Much more subtle.
