Reading, Popular

Labeling a shelf the "popular" reading shelf, does not necessarily make it popular. If you want your library's bookshelves to be popular, stock them with smutty magazines, the illustrated Kama Sutra, Lost Girls, The Anarchist's Cookbook, and free candy. Oh, and anything involving vampires.

That is not called the "popular" shelf. It is called Young Adult. They love, love, love vampires!

Zombies are the new vampires.

Oh, and Star Wars stuff. For Star Wars refuses to die.

Zombies and werewolves. BTW I love Star Wars.

"Popular" means "not serious," i.e., 'decidedly low brow' or 'beneath me'.

[by the way, did you notice how I used "i.e." correctly? I even know the Latin words for which the abbreviation stands!]

If they were really popular, they'd be checked out anyway

Yes, but then Werewolves will be the new zombies, and the werewolves will be replaced by...Vampires. It always comes back to the vampires. Too much sex appeal. And fangs.
