Endorsements, Celebrity
Librarians should celebrate National Library Week by recruiting celebrities to write op-ed pieces for their local newspapers, to film televised library public service announcements, and/or to star in pro-library YouTube videos. If you don’t have access to a celebrity, it is perfectly acceptable to dress up as one and do the promotion yourself.

That's just sad. She shouldn't be around children.
Scary
I actually did that....I dressed up as "Captain Jack Sparrow" and it was fantastic! Kids loved it!
oh my. that's just scary as all get out.
Oh no. Wrong on so many levels. And this is an elementary school??
Oy veh! this is SO wrong...!
just glad she didn't have instrumental backup...
On the one hand, it's weird. On the other hand, I am all for librarians having fun for librarian week. Woot! Ke$ha isn't exactly the character to portray for elementary school, tho. . .
I thought that horrific U Wash Info School video was bad. (My reaction watching it was, "kill me now".) This one is wretched. Combine these two with Library 101, and we've got the trifecta of library videos on the scale of Plan 9 From Outer Space. As one commenter noted elsewhere, "Make the bad lady stop."
By 1980, I had completely abandoned popular music. I still haven't come back, and this is a perfect example of why not.
Sheesh. All you naysayers and critics. Where is your sense of humor?
And, just yesterday, this homage to libraries was posted at the NPR blog Monkey See:

CANNOT UNSEE.
If you look at some of her other videos, the students at her school appear to love it. It seems like she's really connecting with her students, so apparently she's doing something right, weirdness and all.
