Earth Week, Celebrating

Librarians can celebrate Earth Week by...
  • Unplugging all of the library's computers
  • Burning library books to save fossil fuels
  • Encouraging staff to not shower for a week
  • Only circulating green books
  • Using patron poop to fertilize library landscaping

I do not know about some of those things, but I am sure that there are a couple of employees that I work with that do not need encouragement to not bathe themselves daily.

That is very original. How about turning off the lights and A/C too? We can read by candle light. So romantic with the homeless!

Ha,ha! I wonder if you should stop buying books too. Think of all the trees that would be saved!

Just hang out in Libraries generally. I think lots of people are already doing this.

Yes, they are usually the homeless and regular library employees, generally administrative staff.

Dim the upper level lighting in the summer, and lower level lighting in the winter. This allows libraries to capitalize on undergraduate sex by helping it occur in places where the heat generated can most benefit building heating and cooling.
