Humiliation, Feeling
A librarian should never allow her-/himself to be videotaped while dancing and singing about libraries. Find the part of yourself that says, "This will be cute!" and remove it from your body with a dull letter opener.

Ugh, I thought the same thing. Sad, isn't it? The lyrics are cute, though.
It was cute, but while Lady Gaga pushes limits and boundaries, "Catalog" is full of dancing, clothes and lyrics that sound like they came from the 80's.
I couldn't help but think they could have worn something better than college sweatshirts... I expect SKIN in my Lady Gaga homages.
This just reinforces my opinion that librarians are HOT. (well... most of them, at least.)
I thought it was cute. Pushing limits is too often about caring more about yourself than your audience. The only thing I thought was a tad cheesy was Eisenberg plugging his own product, but that's the name of the game, I suppose.
It was my idea to get Mike to do it, actually. He had nothing to do with the lyrics.
ouch. difficult to watch.
Mike's product was old 3 years ago... ick! The rest was fun, I thought.
Completely painful and embarrassing to watch.
I didn't mind it. When I first got the link I was cringing as I clicked on it, but it's cute.
That video is so wrong, it is so right. It totally brightened my morning.
I loved it. I posted it to Facebook, where others loved it.
I freely admit being a dork.
The idea was cute. The lyrics were cute. The skits were cute. But I agree that I would have had more costume style clothing instead of everyday regular clothing. A little more drama would have made it super cute. Overall, I think they did a good job. I'd love to do something like that @ my library :)
misguided bravery

Oh, come on, guys. Is it really necessary to make fun of people for enjoying themselves? If you don't like the video, don't watch it. Why expend the energy to pooh-pooh at other people's fun (and yes, I enjoyed the video, thanks)?
I loved it - what a fun thing to do!
>>> Is it really necessary to make fun of people for enjoying themselves? If you don't like the video, don't watch it. <<<
Geez, how might they know they don't like it until they watch it? I actually thought the video was cute and found the lyrics very clever, but I'm really over the UW Defensive Commenting & Corrections Patrol on every blog where someone dares breathe critique (and pretty mild critique, at least on this blog).
I know that criticism hurts, but if you're going to put yourself out there in a public forum and reap the spoils that go along with that, it helps to accept that you cannot please all of the people all of the time. There's a reason you don't see Lady Gaga wasting her time by personally chastising all the people on Twitter who tell her that they think she sucks.
It can get worse....
