Nominating, Self-

Librarians should never nominate themselves for an award or prize even if self-nominations are encouraged. Such egotistical gestures are undignified, vain, and narcissistic. Instead, delegate this task to one of your subordinates.

Give yourself a pat on the back. Nothing says professionalism more than a mutual or self admiration society.

Isn't self-congratulations the point of all of those awards shows (Emmys, Oscars, Grammys, etc)? Maybe we need a televised Libbies show!

My MIL emailed me info about some librarian award. When I asked her to nominate me, she said she couldn't because she never saw me at work! :\

She never saw you at work or saw you work period?
You know librarians just sit and read all day.
What kind of award should that be named?

One of my coworkers asked our boss to nominate her. And she complied.
