A librarian who wishes to show his/her rebellious side may choose to do so by subverting the library’s employee dress code. Go crazy and wear your garden Crocs at the reference desk instead of your dress Crocs.
Ask the readers: How do you push the limits of your library's dress code?

I wore a denim skirt on "no jeans" casual Friday!
I've decided that if they cover my knee, they could theoretically just be high-water pants, not shorts.
The lowest possible cut shirt under the suit jacket. You're not doing it right until someone says "Lady, put those away."
Heels and pearls on "casual" Friday!
Sometimes I wear a cardigan that doesn't have a trace of cat hair on it.
T-shirts with my sweater, sneakers everyday, and sleeveless dresses - wait oh that's right - we are doing inventory all summer so comfy dress is necessary!
Orthopedic shoes and no underwear.
It doesn't contravene the dress code, but I openly display the tattoos on my forearms.
I do that all the time, but then again, I have an excuse. I'm preggers.
I wear high heels, dresses and skirts, tights with various prints . I'm pretty and don't need to wear glasses either.
I try to clash as much as possible. This means that "professional dress" is achieved in theory, but the ridiculous colour combinations scream "I'm a little crazy."
At the chick who said "I'm pretty and I don't need to wear glasses"... so you are saying that you are bucking the stereotype by being pretty? So librarians are, by definition, ugly with glasses? Gee.
I wear squillions of bead necklaces because, in my head, everyday is mardi gras. Oh, and jandals.
I don't think we have a dress code. But I never wear the little staff identification card that we are supposed to wear. They don't have our names on them; it's just a piece of plastic that lets patrons know we work there.
Ooooh, rule breaker!
@catatonia do you think the rest of the world knows what Jandals are?
I wear jeans on "no jeans" casual Friday. Whatever!
I wear a corset (over a dress shirt). ;)
Skechers has several shoes that don't look *too* much like sneakers. I have 2 pair.
I wear black jeans when the rule has suddenly become "no blue jeans."
I always wear jeans. But then we don't have a dress code, so I'm not really flaunting it... I do dye my hair funky colors though. And wear bangles. Lots and lots of bangles. And 9 rings. Also, today I have neon green eyeliner on. Does that count?
Aren't Jandals flip flops?
Tights. Brightly colored and patterned ones. You can see some of my collection here - http://recreationalreading.blogspot.com/search/label/BOOLEAN
Jeans every Thursday. Chuck Taylors with work pants.
I've broken the ultimate rule of conservative librarian wear-- open toed shoes with no hose!
Jeans, Converse, some sort of t-shirt with a slogan on it and massive earrings.
I have been told that I should look more professional, but I ignored them and now I think they've given up on me.
