Conferences, Ducking out of

If you are going to skip out on library conference sessions or avoid the event completely, be sure to periodically post generic fake tweets (“Geeze, this conference room is sooo cold!” “Long line at the restroom!” “This session is so interesting!”) from the beach, mall, or bar where you are spending your day.

Just make sure you have the app that will send out a fake GPS location, too.

But what if you bump into your boss, who is also out having fun?

If you happen upon your boss, I present the following exchange between Homer and Bart Simpson (who, upon cutting work and school respectively, run into one another on the street):

[Bart and Homer spot each other and gasp]

Bart: I can't let Dad see me playing hooky!

Homer: I can't let the boy see me skipping work!

[Bart brushes his hair forward; Homer uses a comb as a mustache]

Bart: [walking past] Good afternoon.

Homer: [walking past] How do you do, sir?

Bart & Homer: [chuckle] Sucker...

the last conference I went to, I posted my review of the two day event at 6:30 am on the first day, and then made sure everyone read it before we even got there. It was a hoot.
