Books, Burning

Librarians should vehemently oppose book burnings... unless the books are Reader's Digest Condensed Books that have been donated as gifts for your library.

Encyclopedia sets from the 70's and multiple religious pamphlets are always nice as well...

At my branch we like to burn the donated 80's computer books (how's your Apple IIe running?) to try to keep warm.

Funny because it's true. I actually attended a bonfire a couple of years back where the highlight was setting fire to boxes of RD Condensed editions...

I have a set complete from the very first one published in the Spring of 1950 through the middle 1980s, most with the original dust cover. so go ahead and burn those others; that will eventually make mine rare and valuable.

Sometimes instead of burning them we use them for teen crafts. I've made awesome book purses out of RDCV. The covers are very stylish . . .
