In, Blending

Librarians should not wear clothes with pictures of books on them. This "library-camouflage" may hide you as you wander in the stacks, but it makes you a target for nerdhunters as soon as you walk out the library's front door.

Would that include when you're at a librarians' convention or meeting???

I often wear all brown to blend in with our wooden stacks, then leap out at patrons in a friendly manner. A knowledge ninja of sorts. That guy was going to have a heart attack anyways, honest.

but what about my "librarians rock" or "sweet 'n' sassy library chick" t-shirts?
should i better stop wearing these, too? ;-)

How ridiculous! Everyone knows librarians only wear sweaters with pictures of cats on them.

This is why I'm happy they're building us that underground tunnel from the library to the parking lot.

I have often thought that Stacy and Clinton could spend a whole decade teaching library folk "what not to wear". Want to know why you aren't taken seriously as a professional, let's start with the neon shoelaces and work up to the book earrings.
